Week 9

Today during rounds they announced that Elliot is 70 days old, it's amazing to think that 70 days have passed and that we are still riding the Dartmouth roller coaster.  Each day that passes we think about how lucky we are to have Elliot in our lives and how wonderful it will be when we can introduce him to all of our friends and special people in our lives, the bigger he gets the more excited we get!

We've had a pretty good ride this week!  We arrived back here late Tuesday night and were greeted by Elliot on a cpap vent, and what a wonderful surprise for us!  Since this last steriod treatment Elliot has been doing extremly well with his breathing and lung development and it's made us very proud parents.  Elliot has also been able to hold his body temp so he gets to sleep with the top up on his incubator!  Elliot had another eye test, it's not his favorite test but it's an important one.

BJ got in some good holding time with Elliot this week - almost 2 full hours on Wednesday, Elliot slept almost the entire time and it was so peaceful for BJ (the reiki volunteer is on vacation for 3 weeks so we've given Elliot the job to give dad his peaceful time).

On Thursday Elliot made a HUGE move....to the carpet!  We are officially on the carpet non critical side and we are thrilled!  This is such a weight lifted off of us - one step closer to getting Elliot home with us, we've gotta finish building all the baby furniture first!

Thanks again for checking in on us!  We are doing well and also excited that it's October!

  2. Fred and I read all of your blogs and are so delighted to see the progress Elliot has made and continues to make! It must be so rough on you both, but you seem to be taking it all in stride. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Also, Happy Anniversary this month! ;)

  3. I'm so happy that Elliot is making such good progress. Congratulations to both of you! As a parent I've had your child in my thoughts and prayers since he was born, hoping for a positive outcome, and I'm thrilled it has turned out so well. Can't wait to see the pictures from when you bring him home!
