Week 1

Its amazing that we have been parents for week, E continues fight the good fight and boy is he a fighter.

At only a week old he has the best care he can get and we thank his nurses everyday!  They work 12 hour shifts so he has 2 a day, we think it's nice for the parents and even nicer for him.  We are still working on remembering all their names but that will come with time, for now we are glad they all wear large name tags!

He is currently battling a small infection due to a stomach issue and they placed him on a ventelator but he prefers room air which is positive.  He also had his first CT scan, which thankfully came back normal, a big win for little E, again a fighter and already impressing his parents and the nurses.

We recently moved into David's House, a home established for parents who's children are at Dartmouth. Our twins beds are cozy and nice and the staff has been incredible. It's kind of like being in college, we have one shelf in the fridge, one pantry closet and we even had to purchase a shower caddy for the bathroom!  All in all it's a wonderful place to rest our heads at night and be close Elliot.  We believe that they also pump happy oxygen into the town of Lebanon, since everyone here is so nice and helpful.  We encourage everyone to support Davids House and CHad, without them E would not have the care he is receiving and we would not be as close as we are. Now, back to E.

We have recently been assigned diaper duty and temperature taking, but with much needed assistance from E's nurses, the conclusion is... Carrie clearly is the diaper wizard and BJ is the cheerleader.  We will see how long BJ thinks he can sit on the sidelines!

We learned early on that must premies like to be wrapped up nice and tight and compact in his blankets. Not little E... he fights his way out of the blankets every time and loves his independence and freedom, just like his mother. He even has a little eye mask.

We cannot thank all of you for your prayers, support, gifts, assistance, and much more. Please continue to visit the blog and we look forward for next week's edition of the E report.

We're Live

Less than a week and we've already got a blog set up, pretty impressive we think!

Thank you to everyone who has sent prayers, well wishes, cards, flowers, emails, text messages and just wonderful notes.  We have not had time to respond to all of them but please know we've been reading every one!

We have decided the best way to keep everyone who cares about the Perry's in the loop would be to try and blog...share our stories, news, photos and updates, since we will probably be here for a while.  Please do not hesitate to share the URL address with others and we look forward to sharing this journey with all of you!

As always thank you for your warm wishes and prayers, we all appreciate it.

BJ and Carrie
