Elliot!!

Elliot working on his morning leg lifts!  He's getting great abs!
We have been horrible with updating the blog and these photos are all from our cell phone so the quality is also bad - two strikes against us for this month!  Life with Elliot has been crazy!  We are still waiting for the 10lb weigh in, this past Friday he was 9lbs 150z so maybe this Friday we will be celebrating the big 10!!  He's doing great with his braces and has learned to lift them both right up and do exercises with them - also a good way to wake up the parents in the morning by lifting them and slaming them back down in the crib!  He's talking more and laughing at us - which is so wonderful and entertaining for us - BJ's been able to snap a few video's of Elliot chatting away with himself.  We have also been working on getting rid of the oxygen.  We will take it off during the day and see how long he can go and keep his numbers up by using his pluse ox monitor - he's been doing great.  The monitor is very sensative and since Elliot moves all around now it can get so very annoying but we see progess and it makes us very hopeful that soon we won't need the oxygen anymore!  Enjoy these photos and I promise to take more soon with our real camera!

Elliot and Cookie Monster

Elliot and his new friend cookie monster!

The casts are off!  Yipee - we couldn't be more excited....now the braces!  We've survived our 1st week with them, only 11 more to go!  He wears them 23 hours a day for 12 weeks and then at night and during naps until he's 4 and once he's 4 they should be all perfect!  He seems to be working thru the braces and getting used to them - he will have super strong legs by the end of this whole adventure that's for sure.

Since the casts have come off we've been able to get an acurate weight...on Friday Elliot weighed 9lbs 6oz!  We feel like he's been that weight for a long time now!  Our goal was 10lbs by the end of Feb but that's in 3 days so I don't think that's going to happen.

Elliot has a new friend....Cookie Monster - Elliot loves cookie monster it's so cute - he laughs at him, snuggles him and even tries to eat him!  We think the solid one color toy is just what Elliot needed!

We also took Elliot out on an adventure last week to meet his CHaD Buddy for the CHaD Battle of the Badges Hockey game in March - they pair up children with hockey players to raise money and have a huge very successful and fun hockey game for everyone to attend!  We went to the kick off - our police hockey player was unable to come buy we had a very good stand in who posed with us for a photo! The game is March 31st at the Verizon Arena and the tickets at $10.00!  Let us know if you want to join us for a wonderful game and an even better cause!!  Our CHaD police buddy has set a goal of $5,000.00 so all the money we bring in goes towards his goal!

Just Chillin!

Update

It's been a busy few weeks for Elliot!  We are on the last week of his casts!  Can't believe it's been on going since December 23rd - needless to say we are thrilled to have this adventure over - it's been a lot of working getting new casts each week.  Elliot's been quite the trooper and we are happy to have his feet free and into the braces at the end of this week!

Elliot's made it to about 9 lbs - we took him to see a gastro dr last week and he said Elliot has some reflux - so he's been on meds for a few days and we already notice a difference - he's eating more and even sleeping longer at night, a plus for BJ and I.  We hope by the end of the month he's closer to 10lbs!  We are amazed at how far he's come but he still seems so little to us.

We've been very lucky with the weather - no snow and not that cold so we have managed to stay pretty healthy!  Enjoy all the photos and we will take some once he get's his casts off next week!

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Katie and I decided to take some cute photos of Elliot and send out some Valentines from him - here are some shots of the day - the rose is fake btw!  Enjoy
